Job Description – Oracle Database Administrator Expert (171526) Experian is an Equal Opportunity Employer Oracle Database Administrator Expert – Job Number: 171526 Description The database administrator will primarily focus on Oracle but will also have exposure to other database engines like MS SQL Server, MySQL and Mongo DB. The primary responsibilities of this job would include handling physical and applicative side of Oracle Databases in Real Application Cluster (RAC) or single instance configurations, such as installation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery, data export and import as well as keeping the databases up to date with the latest releases and Patches, for all the different environments that we have, such as Production, DR, UAT, Dev, Training, Demo, etc. This position will also work as an Application DBA, which me means that the DBA would be in charge of applying schema changes, manually loading data to the application tables, creating temp tables and applying SQL statements to any of the database environments as needed, working with our applications experts to improve and maintain our loading process as well as working directly with internal application users to keep the integrity of our tables. Other responsibilities include rotational on call support, capacity monitoring and forecasting, change control procedures, database monitoring and corrective actions, long-running data repair and conversion projects and working closely with and providing guidance to application developers on coding techniques. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks in concert with the organizational goals. The candidate must have the ability to complete tasks in conjunction with software release schedules and work very closely with the development teams in design review sessions. The business environment is fast paced with new customer requirements coming on a regular basis. The candidate must be able to interact with multiple levels of management, developers, and business domain experts, and be a team player. The environment is a mixture of on-line and batch processing in a 40 terabyte (and growing) production environment with high transaction volumes and ever increasing reporting requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work with desktop, Windows, Linux, UNIX, database, and Network administrators in a collaborative environment. 2. Be prepared for and participate in regular operations, application development, architecture and other organizational meetings. 3. Document procedures thoroughly for recovery and process purposes. 4. Improve upon existing procedures and design new ones. 5. Perform any other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years experience as an Oracle DBA including: • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred. • Work with desktop, Windows, LINUX, UNIX, database and Network administrators in a collaborative environment. • Must be a people person to maintain good relations with our internal users and other business units. • Strong knowledge of Oracle Features for Replication, Backup and Recovery, SQL, PL/SQL. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. • JAVA is a plus • Oracle Certification are a plus • Sybase and UNIX skills are a plus • Healthcare and/or Financial background a plus REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES: 1. Demonstrated ability to multi-task 2. Good oral and written communication skills. 3. Strong internal customer service skills. 4. Strong knowledge of Oracle (11G or 12C), Linux, SQL, PL/SQL 5. Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle Infrastructure and Oracle ASM. 6. Strong knowledge of Oracle Recovery Manager. 7. Strong knowledge of Oracle Dataguard configuration. 8. Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate is a plus. 9. Knowledge of Tableau is a plus. 10. Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows and other operating systems and high-level programming languages. Strong knowledge of computer operating systems and high-level programming languages – Linux (SUSE/Red Hat). 11. Strong organizational and project management skills. 12. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 13. JAVA is a plus 14. Oracle Certification are a plus 15. Sybase and UNIX skills are a plus 16. Healthcare and/or Financial background a plus 17. Experience with VLDB and data transformation 18.
