Primary Location: Costa Rica Education: Bachelor’s Degree Job Function: Institutional Banking Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day Job Employee Status: Regular Travel Time: Yes, 10 % of the Time Job ID: 17051659 Description Position Objective: Citi Corporate and Investment Banking provides comprehensive financial advisory and capital raising services to top corporations, financial institutions and governments worldwide. This position is responsible for the public sector and local corporate coverage in Costa Rica. Clients receive tailored financial solutions and strategic advisory services on a wide range of Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), M&A and capital-raising activities including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, underwriting and distributing equity, debt, and derivative securities. Our bankers are organized into industry, product and regional groups and work closely with our partners in capital markets, sales and trading, research and global relationship banking to offer customized financing strategies for our clients. This role will report to the CB Head. Key Responsibilities: Delivers Results: – Assist bankers and product partners with the origination, structuring and execution of transactions and financing – Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses Leads Change: – Work closely with all partners to ensure the Corporate Bank fulfills its reaffirmed role of being at the center of the CIB’s relationship management strategy by participating in client planning, product agnostic cross sell and effective capital allocation Act as an Owner: – Ensure that proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards – Evaluate the credit worthiness of clients and actively manage and oversee the preparation of credit approval proposals Builds Great Teams: – Effectively manage Analysts and Associates, delegating and reviewing their work as well as creating a culture of collaboration in the team Drives Client Value: – Build credibility and establish trust with clients by identifying client needs and proactively providing strategic solutions spanning the full range of Citi’s product platform Works as a Partner: – Heavy marketing and execution responsibilities which are coordinated with senior bankers, relationship associates and product/investment banking partners – Partner effectively with the Investment banking team to execute episodic transactions – Work with product partners to provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions including cash management, trade, vendor finance, FX, general credit, loans, debt capital markets, share repurchase, and interest rate and equity derivatives Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically within Banking Sound understanding of the corporate banking business and its related products, pertinent regulations affecting it and the lending and credit approval process Strong credit, negotiations, communications, sales, analytical and organizational skills Experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products Strong work ethic, high energy level, able to work independently and think strategically Fluent in English & Spanish
