Amazon to hire 1,500 in Costa Rica
Amazon Costa Rica announced today that they will be hiring 1,500 for new jobs to support the expansion of its operations.
Among the staff being recruited are opportunities in management, business support, finance, software development, and customer service.
A moderate command of the English language will be expected for some of these jobs.
Candidates who are interested can learn more about the available jobs on Amazon’s website or call 2562-9111.
Amazon currently employs more than 4000 at its two locations in San José and in Heredia province. The company expanded operations in Costa Rica in 2008.

The United States Embassy in San Jose is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Security Escort. This position is open only to United States citizens living in Costa Rica. The position is temporary and will not exceed one year from hire date. All applicants must have the required work and/or residency permits to be eligible for consideration in Costa Rica.

- WORK HOURS: Part-time 20 hours/week
SALARY: *Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): FP-9 US$14,055.00 annual (Starting salary) * Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-5 ¢200,202.00 monthly (Starting salary)*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent performs security escort duties and access control of limited and minor projects, including CAA construction and/or major renovation projects.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school is required.

Amazon Looking to Hire 700 People in Costa Rica
Amazon is looking to hire 700 people in the next three months including positions in customer service and vendor support during its two day job fair on May 6 and 7 .The job fair will happen at Amazon’s Lagunilla de Heredia and Calle Blancos offices from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Applicants must be bilingual (English-Spanish), but the company will also open opportunities for those fluent in a third language such as Portuguese, German and Italian.
